It is aimed at preparing students to pass Advanced Level examination(s), Diploma, Advance Diploma and International Diploma that would qualify them for direct entry admission to a degree program in both Nigeria and foreign universities.
KIMT is a non-governmental organization specializing in the advancement of the SSCE or Ordinary level graduating students, who have a desire to pursue higher education at the University. The institute has established an enviable reputation for excellence in its curricular and character building in students.
Its teaching methods are borne out of continuous research, adapted to suit the particular circumstances of the 20th-century teenager, who is plagued with all sorts of dis-incentives and distractions. Moral issues are also taken care of, being aware of the possible frustration of a trained mind in an undisciplined body, with an un-nurtured spirit. Teaching is reinforced with seminar groups, regular examination practice and periodic tutorials.

- WASC/GCE/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB “O” Level Certificate or Equivalent With at least five relevant credits which must include English Language and Mathematics, and any two others from Economics, Commerce, Geography, Principles of Accounts Government, Business Methods, Typewriting, Shorthand, English Literature, History and Religions Knowledge at not more than two sittings.
ADMISSION FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS
It is our policy to make the benefits and services of our educational programmes available to students without discrimination based on race, religion, colour, nationality, ancestry, sex, handicap, marital status, veteran status. Admission is provisional in the first instance and can be withdrawn at any point in time if there is any need to do so.
CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION
General Conditions for Admission into the Institute. All admissions into the Diploma programmes offered by the Institute in the country are now done by the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB). The final admission of the candidate, however, rests on meeting the minimum admission requirements as laid down by N.B.T.E. In the case of admissions into other programmes offered by the Institute, namely, the International Diploma and Professional Diploma the following procedure apply:
i. An application form is usually obtained from the Institution for a fee and completed forms are returned to the Institution.
ii. The admission of a candidate into a programme is the prerogative of the Academic Board of the Institution which ensures that the candidates meet the minimum entry requirements for the programme as laid down by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
(I) One Year Professional Diploma Full-Time.
Candidates must possess four WASC/GCE O’Level/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB Passes in four subjects relevant to the programme at not more than two sittings.
(II) Advance Diploma Two Years (Full- Time) or Three Years (Part-Time Weekend).
Candidates must possess WASC/GCE/’O’LEVEL/SSCE/NABTEB/NECO
Passes at credit level in four subjects relevant to the programme at not more than two sittings OR four credit passes in relevant subjects obtained at Pre-ND examination of an NBTE Accredited Polytechnic or similar post-secondary Technical Certificates (NTC), National Business Certificate (NBC) with credit passes in all the trade modules, three academic subjects relevant to the JAMB-PCE examination which is conducted annually.
(III) International Diploma Two Years Full- Time or Three Years (Part-Time Weekend).
Acquisition of a National Diploma in the relevant NBTE accredited programme plus relevant qualifications specified in ll and at least one year post – ND Industrial work experience.
Specific Admission Requirements:
- ONE YEAR CONVERSION TO DEGREE PROGRAMME(i) Advertising and Public Administration
(ii) Economics Policy and Human Development
(iii) Business/Enterprise Management
(iv) Computer / Data Base Management
(v) Environmental Management
Four ‘O’ Level, WASC/GCE/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB passes in English Language, Mathematics and any two of the following: Economics, Business Methods; Principles of Accounts; Literature in English; Commerce; History; Statistics; Geography; Government; one Science subject. For Secretariat Studies, Mathematics is desirable but not compulsory.
B . NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) TWO YEARS (FULL-TIME OR THREE YEARS(PART-TIME WEEKEND)
(i) Advertising and Public Administration
(ii) Economics Policy and Human Development
(iii) Business/Enterprise Management
(iv) Computer / Data Base Management
(v) Environmental Management
